How to E-mail in Japanese and Read Emails Written in Japanese ?

    There are several ways to check your e-mails, but you are recommended to use the following components to check your e-mails written in Japanese.  

If you have not made your computer Japanese capable, you have to do first. 
Go to "How to Make Your Computer Japanese Capable"

1) Use Internet Explorer Outlook Express.  Go to Tutorial for how to set up Internet Explorer Outlook Express

2) Via Microsoft's Internet Explorer, use "My Mail" under Mesa Community College Website (Go to www.mc.maricopa.edu, go to "My MCC" and find "My Mail."  Before you use, change your "preferred language to Japanese." Go to Tutorial for how to change your preferred language to Japanese.

Whenever e-mails written in Japanese looks a mess, take the following action to change the encoding system.

  1.  Go to View on the top tool bar.
  2.  Go to Encoding.
  3.  Find Japanese Auto-select (you may have to go under "More.")
  4.  Check if the above two writings of Japanese look identical.

When you want to send the message, type a message in Japanese as you have practiced.
