Images of Jonesborough, Tennessee

from the 30th Annual National Storytelling Festival
October 4-6, 2002

Let's just say it was very hot and swampy this year with only the barest hint that autumn is on its way.
Notice a little gold in the tree up the hill from the church.

But it was still--always!--beautiful.  Here's a hilltop view of the National Storytelling Center
with the courthouse clocktower in the background.

A freight train runs through Jonesborough every now and then,
and its whistle stops the storytelling until the train passes.

The best shop in Jonesborough:  Tennessee Quilts!

The fabrics and notions are downstairs;
upstairs there are old and new quilts to buy.

You never know what you might find in this shop.

You might even find a handsome man!
