BOB KLASSEN • Head Trainer

BOB KLASSEN earned his Bachelor’s degree in physical education at Arizona State in 1980 after which he returned to his home town of Ganado, Arizona on the Navajo Indian Reservation where he was an elementary school teacher and athletic trainer for the local high school teams. He became Head Trainer at Mesa Community College in 1984 where he has also teaches classes in Exercise Science and the Prevention and Treatment of Athletic Injuries as well as on-line classes on Healthful Living.

He has since earned his Master’s degree in Educational Technology from the University of Phoenix. and is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and the Rocky Mountain and Arizona affiliates. Looking back over the past 22 years, he notes that today’s athletes are bigger, stronger and faster than when he first became an athletic trainer. Acknowledging that while certain techniques haven’t changed, science is ever-evolving, and athletic trainers must stay up to date on new treatments and technological advances.
