Papago Park
The red buttes of the Papago Mountains are the perfect backdrop to all that
Papago Park offers. Located on 1,200 acres, visitors to the park enjoy biking
and hiking trails, picnic areas and fishing ponds.
Scenic views of downtown Phoenix can be seen from the Hole-in-the-Rock,
a famous weathered tunnel through the top of one of Papago's peaks.
The Hole can be reached by a moderate climb.
With its otherworldly sandstone buttes, Papago Park has graced the
city of Phoenix park system since 1959. Papago’s trails are
generally easy treks with little elevation gain making it a great
place for training runs.
