In preparation for the first Mesa Thunderbird Cross Country event, Clyde and Michelle Resendez tried to develop a unique competition. They wanted this event to be a quality early season meet, but not limit the competition to collegiate level athletes. Their desire is to include post graduate, club and open athletes to compete as well as exposing prep athletes to the great Mesa College Cross Country program.

History remains to be written as they hope to have more success in the years to come.
