Barry Conchie
Strengths-Based Leadership
Barry Conchie is Principal Leadership Consultant with Gallup. In his role, he directs Gallup's global research, education, and development work on leadership. He also provides analysis, in sights, and measurement for individual executives and leadership teams in the areas of recruitment, succession planning, personal and team growth, workplace and customer engagement, and performance management. His consulting insights help leaders and their teams apply their strengths to achieve organic growth for their organizations.
In addition to speaking and presenting on strengths and leadership, Conchie delivers many of Gallup University's leadership seminars. He designs curriculum for leadership programs that meet the development needs of Gallup's client organizations. He is also a key contributor to the Gallup/University of Nebraska-Lincoln MBA program in executive leadership.
Conchie's consultancy and teaching includes leading organizations in the healthcare, information technology, retail, financial services, manufacturing, public utility, automotive, and pharmaceutical industries in the United States, Europe, South Africa, and Asia-Pacific. He has consulted extensively for government departments in the United States and Europe, especially in the field of education.
Conchie is a motivational speaker who presents frequently to businesses, universities, and public-sector organizations. He uses humor and descriptive insights -- as well as case studies, research, and empirical evidence -- to engage his audiences. His sharp focus on measurement and outcomes, coupled with his simplified approach, clearly guide audiences to ask the right questions and take the right steps toward achieving sustainable improvements in performance.
A native of England, Conchie currently lives near Washington, D.C. with his wife, Nicola, and children, Amy and Thomas.

Harold Ford Jr.
Leadership in a Political World: Playing to Your Strengths When it Matters the Most.
Harold Ford, Jr. served Tennessee in the United States Congress for 10 years. Described by President Bill Clinton as "the walking, living embodiment of where America ought to go in the 21st century," Ford is now Chairman of the Democratic Leadership Council, a news analyst for NBC and MSNBC, and a visiting Professor of Public Policy at Vanderbilt University.
During his 5 terms in the Congress, Ford's focus was results. Having served on both the Financial Services and Budget Committees, his passion for free enterprise and balanced budgets and confidence in American ingenuity to overcome any foe bolsters his belief that
America's best days are in front of us. The challenge and opportunity to grow America's economy, strengthen our moral stature and standing in the world, make America safer and stronger through a revolution in clean energy technologies, and modernize our military to
better be able to fight the enemies of democracy and tolerance around the world continues to inspire his work today. He believes that government is most effective when it's working for the betterment of everyone.
Ford is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, where he got his B.A . in American history, and the University of Michigan Law School. Ford also serves on the Pentagon's Transformation Advisory Group (TAG), an assembly of current and former military commanders, political figures, academics and business leaders who advise the Pentagon on how to modernize our armed forces to meet and defeat 21st century threats. Ford is also an overseer on the board at the International Rescue Committee (IRC) and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
Ford lives in Memphis and Nashville and has offices in New York and Nashville.

Cynthia A. Baldwin
Leadership Challenges: Aspiration, Inspiration and Perspiration
Cynthia A. Baldwin was nominated by Governor Edward G. Rendell to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court to serve an interim term in December 2005 and was overwhelmingly confirmed by the Senate on February 15, 2006. She retired from the Court January, 2008. On March 3, 2008 she became a partner at Duane Morris LLP in the trial practice group. Prior to her nomination to the Supreme Court, she served on the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas for over 16 years in the Civil, Family and Juvenile Divisions. Justice Baldwin received her B.A. and M.A. from the Pennsylvania State University in English and American Literature, respectively. She served as president of its alumni association from 1989 to 1991 and is a gubernatorial appointee to the Penn State Board of Trustees. Justice Baldwin was elected Chair of the Board of Trustees in January, 2004 and served until January, 2007. She is currently Immediate Past Chair. Justice Baldwin also served as Vice Chair of the Association of Governing Board of Colleges and Universities located in Washington, D.C., and in May, 2008 was elected Board Chair.
Receiving her J.D. from Duquesne University where she was a member of its Law Review, Justice Baldwin again maintained a relationship with the institution. She has served in both visiting and adjunct professorships. She is a member-emerita of the Duquesne University Board of Directors and past president of its Law Alumni board. Justice Baldwin also taught in the Widener School of Law Intensive Trial Advocacy Program and lectures widely in constitutional law and jurisprudence. Justice Baldwin is a former member of the Board of Governors of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, a formerMaster in the Pittsburgh Chapter of the American Inns of Court and the Matrimonial Inns of Court. She is a member of the American Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association, Allegheny County Bar Association, Homer S. Brown Law Association and the Women’s Bar Association.
Justice Baldwin is extremely active in the community, serving on several non-profit boards. Justice Baldwin is a past gubernatorial appointee to the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency, serving for twelve years and is a past member of the Pennsylvania Commission on Sentencing. Justice Baldwin is also a seasoned attorney having been associated with several law firms and having served as attorney-in-charge, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Office of Attorney General, Bureau of Consumer Protection.
In February 2008 Justice Baldwin was also elected to the Board of Directors of Koppers Holdings Inc.
Justice Baldwin was chosen as a Fulbright Scholar for the summer of 1994 and lectured at the University of Zimbabwe Law Faculty in Constitutional Law and Jurisprudence. She also assisted in researching the constitutional issues coming before the Zimbabwe Supreme Court. In the summer of 1995, Justice Baldwin was on a team sponsored by the American Bar Association, National Judicial Conference and D.C. Superior Court which conducted judicial education programs in Malawi, Uganda and Tanzania. In the summer of 1998, Justice Baldwin was chosen as part of a national team of five judges to go to Mainland China to do seminars for their judges, law professors and students. The group was sponsored by the National Committee for U.S.-China Relations and the United States Information Agency. Justice Baldwin was the only non-Federal judge chosen. In the Summer of 2007, Justice Baldwin was selected to travel to Guinea to participate in a seminar addressing Freedom of Expression.
Justice Baldwin is very active with the International Women’s Forum and the International Association of Women Judges. Justice Baldwin is a guest scholar at the Wolfensohn Center of the Brookings Institution working on anti-corruption projects in developing nations.
She is the wife of Arthur L. Baldwin and mother of two adult children. |
