Keys for Success
  • Important: Although you are not required to "submit" all lessons/exercises in your Essentials lab book, it is important that you work through the steps to ensure you understand how to complete each of the tasks. The skills within the labs build upon each other and will be included in your tests.
  • Your data files can be found on the Essentials Student Data disk which came with your textbook, or online through the CIS105 Technology Toolbox or the link below. You will need to save the files to your USB flash drive.

http://www.mc.maricopa.edu/dept/d07/cis105/student_disks.html  You will need Word files for these projects.

  • When the book asks you to save to the 3 1/2" A: Floppy drive, (i.e., beginning pg. 81) you should instead save the files to your USB flash drive to complete your lessons (see syllabus).
  • Each project/lesson may either require you create a file, open a file and save it to a different name, or both. Be sure to read and follow each step carefully.
  • Don't forget to read information in the If You Have Problems and the Extending Your Knowledge boxes found throughout the pages of your lab book.
