Keys for Success
  • Important: Although you are not required to "submit" all lessons in your lab book, it is important that you work through the steps to ensure you understand how to complete each of the tasks. The skills within the labs build upon each other and will be included in your tests.
  • When the book asks you to save to the 3 1/2" A:Floppy drive, (i.e., beginning pg. 18) you should instead save the files to your USB flash drive to complete your lessons (see syllabus).
  • Don't forget to read information in the If You Have Problems and the Extending Your Knowledge boxes found throughout the pages of your lab book.

Complete the Following Tasks

1

Read and work through Lessons 1 through 7 in the project: Getting Started with Microsoft Windows XP (pp 1-33) (You will not need to submit this project; however, you will be responsible for knowing the information for your test.)

  • There are no data files needed for this project. You will create the needed files within the lessons.
  • If you are working in the MCC Computer Lab, you may not be able to complete the Control Panel component in Lesson 7.

2

Read and work through Lessons 1 through 3 and Lesson 5: Navigating the Web (pp 35-65) (You will not need to submit this project; however, you will be responsible for knowing the information for your test.)
