On January 12, 2006 at 8:30 a.m. Arizona time and 4:30 p.m. Den Bosch time a celebration was held for students completing their first courses in the degree program. The event was held at both Koning Willem I College and Mesa Community College simultaneously using video conferencing.
Dr. Larry Christiansen congratulated the students in the Netherlands on behalf of the faculty, staff, and students of MCC. Attendees in Arizona for the celebration included Linda Collins, Rodney Holmes, Rod Christian, John Mainieri, Jerry Davis, Steve Corrich, and Colleen Norris.Dr. Coen Free was in attendance in the Netherlands to officiate over the event. Attendees in the Netherlands included Lenie Cuijpers, Yvonne Moerman, and Charles Hall.

At 5 pm the official ceremony was held in the Metaforum where the students and their parents were present. The students received their awards of completion. Following the ceremony was a buffet in La Cantina for the students, their parents and the educators at KWIC involved in the partnership.
