General Lab Usage Guidelines
- All computer lab equipment is available on a first-come-first-served basis. The peak usage times for the labs may be:
Monday - Friday 9:30 AM - 1:30 PM
Monday - Thursday 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM
Saturday All Day
- Help us maintain a library-like atmosphere by keeping noise levels to a minimum.
- Turn off beepers and cell phones. Hold quiet conversations.
- Conserve paper and toner! Limit yourself to 10 copies of a document and refrain from printing large jobs, especially heavily graphic websites.
- Do not bring any food or drinks into the lab. This includes leaving drinks on the tables and filing cabinets by the doors. Keep it all outside. No Exceptions.
- Please ask your guests to wait in the student lounge in the Kirk Center. Guests are not allowed in the lab. Only students registered at MCC and enrolled in computer based classes may access the lab. This also and specifically includes children.
- Online games or web-based chatrooms tend to be disruptive in a learning environment. Please refrain from using these resources on the computers.
- Group projects need to be scheduled with the computer lab and is reserved on a space available basis.
- Never install software on any of the computers.
- Practice good desktop housekeeping. Close all programs you've opened. If you've changed the desktop, please put the settings back to the lab defaults when you leave.
