The Business Department of Mesa Community College pays an annual fee to be an MSDN Academic Alliance (MSDNAA) member. The membership allows the department to keep academic labs, faculty, and students on the leading edge of software technology.

One of the benefits includes access to software titles such as MS Windows, MS Project, MS Visio, and Visual Studio.Net, which includes Visual Basic, C#, C++, and J#. Many of the required textbooks in our courses include the required software for students to work at home. The combination of these resources provides students with the latest versions of the software in the classroom and at home. If the textbook does not include the required software, students may obtain software through MCC's MSDN Academic Alliance membership.

Obtaining Software

Qualified Business Department students in certain BPC/CIS courses may obtain MS Windows, MS Project, MS Visio, or Visual Studio.Net at a minimal cost by paying for the distribution CD and shipping and handling. CD prices range from $9.99 - $26.70, and shipping options begin at $5.75. Software is ordered online at ELMS (e-academy License Management System), and the software can be delivered right to the student's home. Payment is made using a credit card. Before attempting to order, students must have a valid ELMS account.

To get an ELMS account students must meet the following:
  • Must be enrolled in a course that requires the software.
  • Must create an MCC email account.
  • After the semester begins, send an email to the ELMS Campus Program Administrator with the following:
    • Student's full name
    • MCC student id
    • MCC email account
    • Instructor's name
    • Course and section number of course enrolled in
    • Campus Program Administrator: juan.marquez@mcmail.maricopa.edu
  • Student's enrollment will be verified beginning the 2nd week of the semester in which the account was requested in.
  • Students should receive an email confirmation after the account is created.
  • Although ELMS supports various software distribution methods (secured Internet download, CD Check Out, and local server download), MCC only provides the CD Purchasing option at this time.

  • Browse and order the software from ELMS Store - msdn03.e-academy.com/mcc_bcis/
