Preston Cameron
Preston Cameron is in his first semester as a full-time residential faculty member at MCC. He previously was an adjunct faculty member in the Business department. Preston anticipates teaching a wide variety of courses including Management, Marketing, Quality Management, Society and Business, and Accounting. A Utah native, he received his B.S. from Brigham Young University with a Major in Finance and Corporate Financial Planning and a minor in Accounting. Preston later earned a Master of Arts in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix.
Preston’s focus has always included the organization, management, and re-engineering of the accounting, finance and information systems functions. In addition, has continues to have a strong interest in facilitating team-based planning and business process re-engineering. His experience spans many industries. He gained experience working for half a dozen companies before deciding to form his own consulting company, Oculus Consulting Group.
Preston has presented at many workshops and has been the keynote speaker at several conferences and expositions. His travels have taken him around the world six times. He has written numerous articles on organizational culture, the client/consultant relationship, technology selection and implementation, and e-Business strategies, processes and functions. So far, his articles have been translated into French, German, Italian and Russian.
In his spare time, Preston enjoys collecting and listening to music, playing golf and reading Business books. He is a drummer in a Garage Band, claims he is a “very young looking” grandfather, and is active in local politics.
When asked what he hopes to be doing 10 years from now, he says, “carrying on a coherent conversation with today’s students and tomorrow’s business leaders!” Preston and his wife, Tami, have four children and three grandchildren. They make their home in Mesa.
