Bob Samson
Bob Danielson has been a full-time residential faculty member at Mesa Community College for five years. He teaches various Computer Information Systems (CIS) classes at the Business and Industry Institute / Network Academy in downtown Mesa. His courses cover many technical 0.areas including Cisco, Microsoft, Novell, Linux and security issues.
A Washington state native, Bob earned a BA degree in Business from Eastern Washington University. He is currently completing his Masters of Liberal Studies with a focus on Network Security and hopes to be finished by next summer.
Bob has worked in the Information Technology industry for many years at places such as Boeing, Mindworks and Interface Technical Training. He holds numerous important certifications in both networking and security. Bob also provides workshops to parents and youth concerning the dangers of the Internet and was the driving force behind the outstanding DVD on that topic that was recently co-produced by the Network Academy and local high school students.
In his spare time, Bob is active in ministries to the community through his church. His other interests include sports and kids. He is active as a leader of youth activities and also as a soccer referee. Bob states that the most interesting place he’s ever been is “living in Amish country in Pennsylvania”. Bob and his wife, Peggy, have five children: Seth (an MCC student), Joel, Steve, Jake and Sarah.
When asked what he likes most about MCC, Bob replies “the people”. When asked what he hopes to be doing in 5 or 10 years, he says “enjoying life with my wife and having 2 kids left in the house”.
