John Mainieri and his family came to Arizona 23 years ago looking for a change from the high
pressure New York City work environment and harsh Northeastern winters. He taught at ASU as a
faculty associate for 2 years, and has been teaching here in the MCC Business Department ever since.
John and his wife Lida have a son and a daughter and make their home in Tempe.
John teaches Accounting and Statistics classes, is a Certified Public Accountant, and is a member of the Arizona Society of CPA’s. He is very active in articulation issues and the Instructional Council.
A New Jersey native, John graduated from Rutgers University and completed his MBA at Columbia University. He worked for both Price Waterhouse and William Mercer, Inc. in the Big Apple before heading west.
John is an avid hiker and cyclist – he can often be seen riding his bicycle to work. He also enjoys photography and traveling. He considers the People’s Republic of China the most interesting place he has ever visited. He hopes someday to travel to many new places.
John considers MCC a wonderful place to work and remarked how much he appreciates the boundless opportunities for pursuing his professional interests.
