Mesa Community College Business Administration Department Pattie Roberts |
Pattie Roberts is in her first year as a full-time residential faculty member in the MCC Department of
Business & Information Systems. She previously taught at Gateway Community College and Paradise Valley
Community College for 11 years as a Technical Trainer and Adjunct Faculty member. At MCC, Pattie teaches
BPC and CIS classes including Excel, Adobe Photoshop and BPC110.
An Arizona product, Pattie earned her AA degree from Gateway, a BA in Music and a BA in English, both from Arizona State University, and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. She was previously employed by Maricopa High School (on the Ak Chin Indian Reservation), Corona Del Sol High School in Tempe, the Doug Jones Photography studio, Ski Pro and several other organizations. Pattie is a Certified Online Instructor and earned the Microsoft Office Specialist Expert User certification in Microsoft Word. She holds a CIW (Certified Internet Web Professional) from the world's largest Web design certification program and also earned a Certificate in Educational Technology. Lastly, she is a member of the National Association of Adobe Photoshop Professionals (NAAPP). In her spare time, Pattie enjoys skiing, inline skating, outdoor container gardening, photography and dining out. She has done volunteer work with Toys for Tots, the Gilbert CAP and the Mesa Association for Retarded Citizens. She is active in church activities and adopt-a-family programs. Pattie enjoys travelling and says the most interesting place she has ever visited is Japan. She loves to shoot pool, play Texas Holdem and smoke a good cigar. Speaking of MCC, Pattie is grateful to be working in a supportive environment and working with students. She hopes to be teaching at MCC for many years to come. Pattie and her husband, Scott Matteson, make their home in Gilbert. They have two daughters, Terri (20) and Miki (17 going on 30).
