Larry Wiggs

Larry Wiggs Larry Wiggs has taught in the Mesa Community College Business Department for 20 years. Larry teaches classes in Accounting Principles and Uses of Accounting Information as well as open entry labs for Introduction to Accounting.

An Oklahoma native, Larry’s family moved to Arizona in 1960. He graduated from Scottsdale Coronado HS and Arizona State University. Larry is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and worked for a large accounting firm (now Deloitte & Touche) for three years after college. He still finds time to do a little accounting work on the side and has been known to help fellow employees with their tax returns.

While enrolled in graduate school at ASU, Larry had an opportunity to do some teaching in the graduate lab, helping other students with their problems. That experience got him thinking about a career in teaching. He decided to teach part time at ASU and at the American Graduate School of International Business (Thunderbird) before joining the Faculty of the MCC Business Department in 1984.

Larry is a talented musician who played the bassoon in the orchestra at ASU and is even a past member of the Phoenix Symphony Orchestra. He has been active with the State Board of Accountancy for many years and is past chairperson of the continuing education committee. Larry was also active in the MCC Faculty Senate and served as Treasurer.

In his leisure time, Larry enjoys an occasional round of golf. He and his wife, Sharon, make their home in Tempe.
