The needle was first used 23,000 years ago. The arrangements of beads found on skeletons suggest that they wore leggings and tunics to keep them warm. Pictures engraved in stone in some areas depict the Cro-Magnons in parkas and collared shirts. They also wore boots and moccasins to protect their feet.
