MCC School of Education-Education Studies Advisory Committee

Purposes of the Committee:

  1. To conduct an ongoing needs assessment of the professional development requirements for educators that are located within access of MCC.
  2. To discuss how the current services of the MCC Education Studies Department can be made more accessible and useful to practicing educators.
  3. To explore interest in and the need for possible new services offered by the Department.
  4. To investigate how the school districts can continue to assist the Department in providing excellent cooperating teacher classrooms as placements for the practicum/service learning component for pre-service educators enrolled at MCC.

Duties of Committee Members:

  1. To attend and be an active participant in the Advisory Committee meetings held 2 times per year (January / February and September / October).
  2. To serve in an advisory and informational capacity to ensure effective communication and an appropriate response to professional development needs.
  3. To represent the voice of educators from the respective districts within access of Mesa Community College.
  4. To function as an advocate of the MCC School of Education-Education Studies services in the community’s schools.
