Reasons why practicing teachers take continuing education courses through MCC:
Teaching Endorsements for Certified Educators
1. For teacher endorsements and recertification. The Arizona Department of Education accepts lower division credits for continuing teacher education. MCC provides a variety of teacher development options.
2. The tuition is economical. Arizona public university tuition is 3 to 4 times higher than MCC for undergraduate courses and 4 to 5 times higher for graduate courses. Tuition is often more expensive at private universities.
3. Teacher cohorts are available. Groups of certified, practicing educators meet as cohorts to take evening or summer classes together. The MCC Education Studies Department has ongoing partnerships with various school districts to offer endorsement classes on-site in the district’s school buildings or at MCC’s Country Club & Brown extension. If you are certified, but do not work for one of our partner districts, you may still enroll in the teacher endorsement classes offered at the Country Club & Brown, Southern & Dobson or Red Mountain campuses.
NOTE: If fifteen or more certified educators in your school or district are interested in an on-site cohort, please contact us at 480-654-7762.
