Xalapa Study Abroad Program

Program Overview

Hosted by the School for Foreign Students (SFS) at the Universidad Veracruzana, the Xalapa Study Abroad Program offers an opportunity to participate in an international learning experience in the tropical city of Xalapa, Veracruz, México.  A key feature of the program is its service learning component, offering field experience in Mexican classrooms.  Participants earn 7 college credits in Education and Spanish to complement their service learning, home-stay, and cultural immersion.

Courses

Participants enroll in 7 credits from the following:

  • EDU282AA Volunteerism in Education: A Service Learning Experience (1 credit)
  • EDU230 Cultural Diversity in Education OR EDU298 Special Projects (3 credits)
  • SPA115 Beginning Spanish Conversation I OR SPA298 Speical Projects (3 credits)
