Introduction

While there are many employment options upon completion of each level within the Interior Design program, there are also opportunities for advanced study leading to a baccalaureate degree. Many of the Interior Design courses are transferable to other colleges and universities depending upon the programs of study and the policies of the institution. Some interiors courses will fulfill general education requirements in specific programs. For detailed information on transferability, consult with MCC’s office of Transfer Services.

MCC has agreements with three bachelor’s programs for articulated transfer of credits.

BRIDGEPOINT EDUCATION accepts 90 credits in transfer from MCC. Upon completion of the Advanced Certificate in Interior Design students will complete 30 credits with Bridgepoint Education, culminating in a Bachelor of Science in General Studies with a Concentration in Interior Design. Courses are available online for your convenience.

Maricopa Community College District has a 2+2 agreement with NORTHERN ARIZONA UNIVERSITY. The entire AAS degree (67 credits) from MCC is accepted by NAU. The third and fourth years of a Bachelor of Science degree are completed through NAU Statewide with classes conveniently offered in the Valley. For more information, contact Kathy Yeager at kathy.yeager@nau.edu

Many classes from your AAS degree will transfer into the Bachelor of Science in Design program at ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY. The Interior Design program at ASU is a FIDER accredited program within the College of Design. For transferability of specific classes, consult the Course Equivalency Guide. Students are encouraged to meet with an Advisor at ASU.
