Bio212 Biotechnology Laboratory

Bio212 is a three-semester biotechnology series in which the student is given extensive hands-on experience with modern laboratory techniques and equipment.  The will become proficient in media preparation and routine manipulation of DNA while conducting gene expression analyses in the first semester (Bio212AA). Bio212AB will provide the student with experience in various applications of chromatography, enzymology, spectrophotometry and hybridization techniques.  The series will conclude (Bio212AC) with a semester dedicated to exploring environmental and marine biotechnology as well as completing an intensive project in cell culture.
