Biology Online

The Life Science Department offers two classes online at this time: Biology Concepts (BIO 100) and Biotechnology and Society (BIO 106).

Biology 100 online is a four-credit course general education course in biology that transfers to universities just like the on-campus Bio 100 class. Students do laboratory experiments at home.  Designed for non-biology majors, it has won several awards. If you are an English major, education major, business major, etc., Bio 100 will satisfy a requirement for a four-credit hour laboratory science course. (If you are a biology major, the course you should take is Biology 181.)

Biotechnology and Society (BIO 106) is a three-credit general education course that introduces students to the processes and procedures of biotechnology. This course does NOT have a laboratory component and therefore does NOT satisfy natural science requirements.
