Mission

The Mathematics/Computer Science Department provides students with the opportunity to gain knowledge and skills in Mathematics and Computer Science.  This knowledge and skills will enable students to pursue their individual goals.  We provide the communities with the ability to expand their worldviews.  We facilitate the development of life long learning.

Goals

1. Enhance and develop the curriculum of the Mathematics/Computer Science Department.
2. Improve access for all students to mathematics and computer science courses and to extend this access to all prospective students in the communities.
3. Support and encourage faculty to remain current in their discipline, to enhance their teaching skills and to develop their advising abilities.
4. Enhance, develop and support community efforts among our faculty.
5. Develop and maintain facilities that promote flexible approaches to teaching and learning, promote collaboration and communication between our students, our students and faculty.
6. Support access to instructional technology both as a tool and as a subject of instruction.
7. Support a leaning environment that is inviting to all students.
