Filling an Empty World

On Thursday, September 21, we will try an experiment in group imagination. We journey back to 25,000 years ago, and consider what the human experience was. We know they had language by then, but what kind of language was it? We know they made art, but why did they do it? We know they invented, but how inventive were they? How did they count things? Did they ever see strangers? Did war invade their lives? How did they dress? What did they think was the "purpose of life"? Could they imagine the future?

There are countless questions, covered in our history, archaeology, linguistics, and humanities courses. But we seldom get the chance to try to pull all of it together.

It happens from 1:30 - 2:45 pm in the Navajo Room (Kirk Center).
