What the Engagement Project Does
Our Mission:
To help foster a sustainable environment for global tolerance and engagement in our pluralistic world.
To promote understanding of different world views on religion and ethics.
The CGTE seeks to build Engagement in four ways.
- Events featuring our MCC Faculty/Staff/Students. We offer regular series, such as Table Talk and Kefir's Corner, in which our faculty draw the wider campus together in conversation about various aspects of Engagment. We also frequently sponsor special campus gatherings and forums as the events of the world require.
- Events featuring people outside the campus. At least once a semester, we help to bring in figures from the wider community, including those in the Valley and those beyond. These events are presented for both our campus community and the community in which we live.
- Events presented within the wider community. Our faculty are a resource for the wider community as well, and we frequently visit schools, retirement communities, and libraries to present on themes relevant to Engagement.
- The CGTE Resource Center. We are building an on-campus resource center for use by students, faculty and staff. It includes video, audio, and print resources.
