Discipline In Early Childhood
(Early Childhood 4-7)

"The children of today are the future of tomorrow."

Children are not all the same. They come in different shapes and sizes. They also are different in their mental capacity, mood, and temperment. Thus, when it comes to discipline "one size does not fit all."

The intent of this web page is to help parents understand more about discipline, what it is, what is appropriate, and how one can practice better disciplinary approaches.

Discipline is not punishment. It is a way of training and guiding. Discipline is a way of teaching children what is appropriate behavior and attitude.

In order to help you as a parent understand more about your own style of discipline we have included a short quiz that helps you reflect on your discipline techniques. We have also included a table of behavior that is age appropriate, because not all behavior is bad behavior. And finally we have included ideas of disciplinary techniques and possible ways to better your own parenting styles.
