
Welcome to the infertility website. This problem affects one in seven couples, both men and women are affected. Infertility is defined as the inability to conceive despite regular and unprotected sex for two years. Infertility can be broken into two categories: primary and secondary. Primary infertility is when there is no previous pregnancy and comprises 40% of couples. Secondary infertility is when there was a previous pregnancy, regardless of the results of that pregnancy.
There are two types of infertility, subfertile and sterile. Subfertile means a couple can achieve pregnancy and livebirth with treatment. Sterile infertility on the other hand, means even with assistance the couple cannot achieve pregnancy.
