Administration
of Justice Studies
The Administration of Justice Studies (AJS)
degree provides a broad overview of the many components of the
criminal justice system. It gives the student a solid
understanding of the processes and players that make up our
system of justice. Students will immerse themselves in the laws
that govern our system of justice, ethical concerns that make
decision making often challenging, the juvenile justice system’s
struggles with how to handle violent youths, current
issues/trends headlining the news, and criminology that explores
the criminal mind and intent. Students will also look at the
police function and officers’ changing role in the community,
examine correctional issues related to punishment and
rehabilitation and study the importance of criminal
investigations in solving crime.
