What is a Service Email account?
A Service Email Account is a general access
email account that allows general or specific email inquiries
to be handled by your staff.
Why would you use a Service Email account?
There are a number of reasons:
- Email contacts that utilize a personal email
account [john.lopez@mcmail.maricopa.edu] count against that
individual's mailbox quota. If your email account is especially busy
- your customer's email query can "bounce" if your mailbox is full.
- What if the individual is sick or on extended leave? Who will answer those emails?
- A Service Email Account can be accessed by several members of a department or office so there is "coverage" for incoming emails.
- In the event that an individual is transferred or leaves their current
position, there is no disruption in the delivery and response to email
sent to your department or program.
