Library Information Technician Program

Mission and Description of the Program
The Program serves individuals preparing for employment, assists those wishing to change careers or work assignments, and provides continuing education options.
Qualified library information technicians/assistants…
• Work in an exciting atmosphere of continuous learning and curiosity
• Work in a variety of settings such as children’s services, schools, college/ academic, public, special libraries (museum, archive, medical, business, law, etc.), the publishing or information industry and more
• Work in a teamwork environment to assist others in using technology tools, locating information and reading materials, and conducting research
• Learn and engage with new and emerging information resources & technologies. Library information technician/assistant positions are classified as professional/ technical occupations. Those trained in this field are important team members of a library or information organization.
