Conversation Cafés are free, drop-in conversations about a specific topic held in a public gathering place—such as your local coffee shop. This allows people from diverse backgrounds and with different points of view to gather together and discuss current issues.

Conversation Café originally began in Seattle as a way of creating a ‘culture of conversation’ based on the belief that conversation is democracy in action and a way of helping people to connect to one another and their community. The idea has definitely caught on and was brought to the Phoenix area by Make A Difference. Make A Difference is a non-profit agency established in 1993 with the goal of providing volunteer opportunities for adults and help meet critical community needs. Make A Difference brought Conversation Cafés to Phoenix as another way of strengthening our community.

Mesa Life Options is proud to host Conversation Cafés in collaboration with Make A Difference—yet another partnership serving our community! All are invited to these free conversations, no cost involved. Simply log on to the Make A Difference Web site to register your attendance.
