Born and raised in California, I moved to Texas to begin my Master's degree at Texas A&M University. Since completing my degree, I have taught in the North Harris Montgomery Community College District for 10 years. I "discovered" service-learning after a National Communication Association conference two years ago. Since then, I have offered service-learning every semester and helped build SL on my campus and in my district. I have compiled handbooks, developed community partnerships, trained faculty, organized recognition events, and developed initiatives in the district.
