Dean McGovern became the third executive director of The Montana Campus Compact in August 1999. A strong interest in higher education and passion for non-profit work attracted Dean to the organization, which is committed to engaging college faculty, students, and staff in curricular and co-curricular civic engagement activities. Dean holds a doctoral degree in higher education administration from The University of Montana. His master’s degree is in public health promotion. He received his baccalaureate degree in physiology from Colorado State University. He has written and presented on various topics in higher education including academic leadership, service-learning, and civic engagement. In addition, Dean is active in professional organizations and non-profit boards. He is engaged in his community on neighborhood councils and as a volunteer for various projects and events.
