Neal Naigus works as The Assistant to the President for Community Relations at Portland Community College (PCC). He serves as a link between the community and the College, and works closely with community groups and organizations to help identify community needs and connect College programs and services to help address those needs.
He also is the Co-Director of the Pacific Northwest Public Policy Institute, which trains moderators in the National Issues Forums (NIF) process of public deliberation. As part of his responsibilities, Neal works with communities throughout the PCC district, helping them to identify critical issues and to engage their communities in helping identify activities to address those issues. Convening and moderating NIF's and Study Circles have been methods utilized in achieving these goals.
Neal is also the Director of PCC's older adult programs, including the Senior Studies Institute and Senior Service Corps., and serves as the administrative liaison for the College's Service-Learning Program.
