Born in Americus, Georgia, Virginia York received a BA degree from Wesleyan College, Macon,GA, and her MA& DA degrees from Middle Tenn State University. She has traveled in over 50 countries. Previously, she worked as a Professor of Economics at the University of Maryland--European division, and is currently a Professor of Economics at the Gulf Coast Community College.
