Training & Technical Assistance Information

The Community College National Center for Community Engagement (CCNCCE) provides training and technical assistance (TTA) to community, technical, tribal, and two-year colleges in the United States and its territories for the purposes of promoting and developing service-learning and civic engagement.

CCNCCE TTA funds provide for a trainer's transportation, lodging and per diem (per the Maricopa Community Colleges District guidelines) for the duration of the training, and CCNCCE is responsible for arranging payment/reimbursement to the trainer for these expenses, based upon the State of Arizona's maximum allowable lodging and per diem rate for the area in which the training is taking place. Please see the Arizona State Government Travel/Per Diem chart. If the trainer is not able to find a mid-range hotel within the allowable rate, the host institution is responsible for making up the difference. We ask that the institution provide the trainer with an honorarium for conducting the training and the trainer's preparation time. However, the amount of honorarium must be agreed upon between the host institution and the trainer at a minimum of $540 per 1-day training. CCNCCE will not become involved in the payment of honorariums. In addition, once funding for TTA is approved, the host institution and trainer must work out the logistics of the training (i.e. where, when, how).

Once CCNCCE receives your TTA request, CCNCCE will contact you for further information (i.e. tentative dates, etc.). If funds are available and approved, CCNCCE will provide both the trainer and institutional contact with all information so that they can begin planning the details of the training. We suggest you make your request at least six weeks in advance as many of our trainers are teaching faculty.
