EXPERIENCE

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF GRANT DEVELOPMENT - Ivy Tech State College, One West 26th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46206, phone: (317) 921-4653. Responsibilities include: (1) writing grant proposals for individual regional campuses and joint campus programming; (2) reviewing and enhancing grant proposals prepared by regional campus offices; (3) training regional staff members to develop effective and marketable grant application packages; (4) identifying funding opportunities in the private and public arenas for regional campus programs; (5) publishing a web page with grant related information and opportunities for regional campus staff; and (6) assisting with the development of funding strategies for college programs. 2/2002 to present.

FUND DEVELOPMENT CONSULTANT - Independent consultant. Services provided include: (1) assists non-profit organizations in the preparation of grant applications for submission to local, municipal, state, and federal funding sources; (2) develops program descriptions, goals, performance objectives, measurable outcomes, and evaluation components; (3) prepares program budgets; (4) identifies potential funding sources for client organizations; (5) develops funding strategies to utilize in specific and general searches for initial and long-term funding sources; and (6) teaches fund development techniques and strategies. 1/2001 to present.

PAST EXPERIENCE - Other relevant experience includes having served as the executive director of a local youth development organization. Among programs emphasized were several service learning components that facilitated grassroots involvement of youth in relevant learning projects. Additional experience includes having served as a fund developer and grant manager for Indianapolis/Marion County neighborhood-based social service agencies.
