To apply in person for positions at the Mesa Legend, visit the Legend offices in the English-Foreign Language building, Room EF2N. Or, complete the on-line application.

Applicants must be enrolled for at least one three-credit course in any department of Mesa Community College during the semester(s) they are employed.

Persons seeking reporter positions should contact the editor of the section for which they wish to write, for example, news or features. All editors on the staff have mailboxes in the Legend offices and email addresses.

Advertising Salespeople
(paid position)
Commissioned advertising sales. Earn extra money during the school year. Must be professional and responsible. Some sales experience helpful, but will train.
Computer Paginators, Web Design
Responsible for designing, creating news pages. Must have working knowledge of Quark, Photoshop, Illustrator. Knowledge of newspaper design helpful, but will train creative people. HTML helpful for Web designers, but not required.
Reporters
Needed to cover on-campus and off-campus events and stories. Must be able to communicate with sources and meet deadlines. Creative, dedicated people encouraged to apply. Knowledge of newspaper style and Associated Press Style helpful, but will train quality person.
Artists, Cartoonists, Illustrators
Creative people needed to create graphic elements to accompany news stories, editorials, and feature stories. Need comic strips, editorial cartoons, editorial illustrations, graphic images. Any medium could be used; pen & ink, paint, computer. Must be able to meet deadlines and take direction from editors.
Columnists
Creative writers needed. Must be original and timely. Must be able to write thought out and entertaining stories. Here is your opportunity to express your opinion.
Marketing, Public Relations
Needed to help develop, maintain marketing and PR plans. Need creative, dedicated business students with great ideas.
Photographers
Responsible for photographing events and people for Legend stories. All ranges of experience from beginning to advanced are welcome. Must provide own camera.
