The Assistance League of the East Valley is a volunteer program dedicated to using its collective strength to assist and serve residents of the community.

Their board meeting will meet 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8 in the Kirk Center’s Maricopa Room. For information, call (480) 802-0650.

Arizona voters who reside in the Navajo precinct can vote in the Primary Election , 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12 in the Navajo Room.

One must be registered by August 14, 2000 in order to vote. For information, call (602) 506-3257.

Theater symbol Auditions
Auditions for the fall play, “Lysistrata”, a comedy by Aristophanes, directed by Sandy Elias., will be 3:30 to  5 p.m.  and  7 to  9 p.m.Wednesday, Aug. 30 and Thursday, Aug. 31 in the Theatre Outback’s Green Room.

Traffic School
The  Arizona National Safety Council will hold a six to eight hour Defensive Driving Class to dismiss traffic tickets or citations.
Cost depends on the jurisdic-tion the notice was sent from.
Class will be 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Saturday starting Sept. 9 through Dec. 16 in Room SC11E.

Small Businesses
The I.R.S. along with other sponsors will present a free Small Business Fair  8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9 in the Navajo Room.
The fair will have a variety of agencies, chambers and associations that work in supporting and promoting the growth of small businesses on site.
