SPOTLIGHT
The Mesa Arizona Temple Visitors’ Center presents the 63rd Easter Pageant, "Jesus the Christ," this month. Performances will be held April 10-14 beginning at 8 p.m. The production is the largest annual outdoor Easter pageant in the world, boasting a cast of more than 400 volunteers. The pageant and parking for the event are free and no tickets are necessary. The Mesa Arizona Temple Visitors Center is located at 525 E. Main Street in Mesa. MCC Book Sale
The library will be holding a Book Sale in the lobby on Wednesday, April 25 and Thursday, April 26. Magazines, textbooks, fiction and non-fiction books may be purchased from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., and again between 5 and 7 p.m. Call Susan Pyles (480) 461-7864.

The Sounds of Mariachis
Enjoy an evening of authentic Mariachi music as the Mariachi Diablos del Sol, Mariachi ASU, and the Marimba Maderas de Comitan perform in the Katz Concert Hall on Wednesday, April 18. The concert is free and will begin at 7:30 p.m. Call (480) 965-3587 for more information.

Songwriting Class
MCC is offering a new class, Music Notation for Songwriting (MTC 110, section #0025). It is a two credit course that is completed in two weekends, beginning on April 20 and ending on April 28, with classes held Fridays from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Saturdays between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
No prerequisites required. Class will cover the basics of reading and writing music. Students of all skill-levels are encouraged to enroll. For informatiuon, contact Songwriting instructor Darlene Richardson, at (480) 461-7593.

MCC Jazz Festival
The Mesa Community College Jazz Ensemble will be hosting a Jazz Festival on April 18 from 12 to 4 p.m.
The performance will be held in the MU3 and MU14 and tickets are free. For more information, call (480) 461-7576.

Thursday, April 26, in MU-14. Concert begins at 8 p.m.

Looking for a nice evening of entertainment under the stars this weekend? Saturday, April 18, head over to ASU Museum’s Fifth Annual Short Film and Video Festival at the Nelson Fine Arts Center at 8 p.m. Admission is free, bring your own blanket or chair. For information call (480) 965-8795.

  Discussing the Moral Universe
Lincoln Public Ethics Lecture Series presents Professor Terence Ball on Tuesday, April 10 from 2-4 p.m.
Ball will lead a lecture about moral consideration and respect, among other related topics.

March 26
A male student reported that his Ford Escort had been broken into in the stadium parking lot. The driver’s side window was broken. Stereo equipment and 30 CDs were stolen.

March 30
A former female student and employee was found guilty of trespassing by the Mesa City Court, after she had been instructed not to go to certain areas of the campus.
She was also instructed not to speak to college employees, who said she was interfering with their work.
The Dean of Students, a certified college officer, an employee student and the College Safety Chief testified against her. The Dean suspended the former student. The judge imposed a fee of $250, but waived a $100 portion of it.
