Spotlight
The first free lecture of the 2000-01 Honors Forum Lecture Series is titled:
“Beyond Imagination: Life in Space” and will be 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept.
20 in the Bulpitt Auditorium of Phoenix College, 1202 W. Thomas Rd. The
speaker is former NASA astronaut Dr. George D. Nelson, director of Project
2061, which is engaged in the reform of science, math and technology education.

Country Dance
Community Education will be sponsoring a Country Dance from 7 to 9
p.m. Tuesdays from Sept. 19 to Oct. 24 in the Kirk Center’s Navajo
Room.
Learn the basics of the Arizona 2-step, waltz, tripletime, shuffle
and line dances. Students should enroll with a partner but singles
are welcome. The class is open enrollment up to Sept. 19. Tuition

Film Series
The Center for Asian Studies at ASU hosts its annual free fall
Asian Film Festival featuring films from Korea, China, Vietnam, Japan
and the United States.
Films will be screened at 7:30 p.m. in Room 101 of the Nursing Building
on the ASU Main campus in Tempe Wednesday, Sept. 27 (“Our Twisted
Hero,” Korea, 1992), Thursday, Sept. 28 (“The Gingko Bed,” Korea,
1996) and Friday, Sept. 29 (“Surrogate Woman,” U.S., 1987).

Register to Vote
There is still time to register to vote for the General Election
on Nov. 7. The registration deadline is Oct. 9. Forms must be postmarked
or delivered in person to your County Recorder’s office or the Office
of the Arizona Secretary of State by this date to be eligible to vote
in this election.
Forms are available at the Kirk Center and all campus departments.

The Performing Arts Showcase is a regular Saturday event at Euro
Cafe, 1111 S. Longmore. Open mic is 8 to 9 p.m. and 10:30 to 11 p.m.
