DPS Log

Information provided by MCC College Safety

Oct. 14
While attending a Mortuary Science seminar at MCC, a Phoenix man suffered an apparent stroke. Paramedics arrived and told the man he should have further medical treatment. He was driven to Desert Sam by a friend.

Oct. 19
While on patrol in the west parking lot, a student safety officer observed an individual pull into a faculty parking space without a college decal. When the officer asked the male driver if he was a student, his reply was, "I do not have to answer you." The officer stood behind the car while it was in reverse, making contact with the officer's knee. A certified college officer arrived and informed the driver he had to show him identification. He did and indicated he did not know that his car struck the student officer. He was cited for no decal and for parking in a faculty designated area.

A report was received of criminal damage to a Chevrolet truck parked in the southwest parking lot. The owner of the vehicle said the window, on the passenger's side, was broken but nothing was stolen.

A college officer was notified of possible verbal and written harassment towards a female student, which contained no threats and learned that it was a hoax carried out by a former employee.

Oct. 26
A male student cursed a female faculty member before leaving her class. She notified the department chair and he sent an e-mail to the dean of students citing three sections of the college regulations that have been violated. The dean of students will follow up the request for action.
