Students Observing and Scrutinizing
What do you think about this?

Every degree from MCC has some level of math requirement attached to it. In the age of high technology, computers and calculators, math is still a pillar of the educational process. Have you had any problems with the math program, teachers or any other element of the math department?

"Math classes are four or five days a week which creates a transportation problem for me."

Tamara Brower 21, Computer Applications

"Taking math here at MCC takes too long, I take it at EAC (Eastern Arizona College)."

Andrea Price 20, Dental Hygiene

"Why do I need to take algebra? I just want to mess with people’s minds."

Jason Tavares 28, Psychology

"I took MAT102 over the Internet and didn’t pass because the teacher was hard to get a hold of over the phone."

Erin Boswell 20, Education

"I’m dyslexic; sometimes I feel like teachers and study groups just give me the answers instead of teaching me."

Karrie Mawhinney 24, Education

"I’m taking MAT150 through Rio Salado (instead of MCC) over the Internet because it’s a 13-week course instead of 17."

Andrea Johnson 23, Secondary Education

"The timed placement test was hard for me which put me in a math class that is too low."

Janice Jogow 18, Undeclared
