Jazz great to visit MCC
In honor of Black History Month, the MCC Music Department will
host speaker /performer Jimmy Heath.
All that Jazz
The MCC Jazz Ensemble and Desert Mountain Jazz Ensemble will
be performing at Desert Mountain High School, Wednesday Feb. 20
at 7 p.m.
'Out to Lunch'
"Out to Lunch," a concert series presented by the Mesa Arts
Center, will be held from noon to 1 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday
in February.

The Highland Games
MCC will play host to the 45th Annual Scottish Gathering and
Highland Games on Feb. 23-24.
Native American exhibit
On Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002 the Heard Museum will open the 8th Native
American Fine Art Invitational. The purpose of the event is to break
down stereotypes about Native American art.
Theater
Theater audition calls
Theatre Outback is calling for all students, regardless of acting
experience, to audition for the April production of "Cat on a Hot
Tin Roof."

Feb. 26, from noon until 1 p.m., Career Re-entry Services will
be hosting a seminar entitled "Financing Your Education." The purpose
of the event will be to help students understand how to fill out
financial aid and scholarship forms. For more information, call

Twisted animation
Spike and Mike's Sick and Twisted Festival of Animation - an
independent animation festival of which the likes of "Beavis and
Butthead" and "South Park" were launched in to the mainstream -
is coming to the Valley. The shows are on Feb. 17-21 and 24-28.

GateWay to the Arts II presents "Silent Comedy Shorts" at GateWay
Community College Feb. 11.
Lectures
Laughter, the best medicine
Feb. 19, Professor Joseph Boskin, of Boston University, will
discuss the relationship of tragedy and humor at a free lecture
titled "American Humor - Jubilant Reaction."

On Feb. 12, Mardi Gras at Hayden Square will feature the bands
