Spotlight MCC' s annual Assessment Week is Feb. 25–March 1. During the week, randomly selected students who have completed 30 hours or more at MCC, will be asked to take an assessment test. Requests will be made during the students' regular class schedule.

The assessment tests will measure students' skills in one of the following areas: written and oral communication, information literacy, cultural diversity, scientific inquiry, problem solving /critical thinking, numeracy, arts and humanities, and workplace skills. The tests do not cover specific coursework and are used ultimately to measure the effectiveness of MCC's instructional programs.

MCC has used the assessment test results for more five years, and more than 3,000 students have participated in seven general education and two workplace skills assesments. If you are asked to participate, you will be helping the college document and improve learning. All test results will remain anonymous. For more information, call Jeff Andelora at (480) 461-7343.
