Students Observing and Scrutinizing

What do you think about this?
BY Mesa Legend

Advanced Cell Techno-logies announced on Nov. 23 that they had successfully cloned a six-cell human embryo. What do you think about the moral issues involved with human cloning and the possible outcome of the milestone technological advancement that occurred this past Thanksgiving?

"The clones could be defected . . . But if they could find cures for some disease by cloning, I would like to see them find a cure for some diseases."
Jeff Miller 19, Physical Education
"If it’s used for research for cancer or AIDS, that would be fine, but as far as for making new people I don’t think it’s moral at all. Research is okay though."
Angela Sansom 23, Mortuary Science

"If people want to play God, let them play God."
Heather Biehl 21, Theater
"I feel it’s all right if they don’t use it for cloning humans, if they use it for research."
Chris Luginbuhl 22, English
