Hot action cop freezes over
By Matt Mueller
For the Mesa Legend

Every CD has something to offer, love it or hate it there is usually one part that catches an ear. As a general rule this seems to be true. This however, does not take into account Hot Action Cop.

The band has enjoyed national radio attention over the past few weeks, and has a self titled album set for release on March 4. Juvenile toilet humor and poor rhymes characterize this band’s style. The overall sound is similar to Limp Bizkit, without the anger, catchy guitars, or any quality.

The music its self is a little schizophrenic switching from heavy guitars and rap metal to ridiculous tracks like “Fever for the Flavor” made popular by extensive radio play, and on to tedious ballads with bongos.

There is no deep meaning, there is no metaphor, and there is no reason to subject your self to all 56 minutes of this album. Perhaps the album’s strength is that it is only 56 minutes instead of the 74 that a CD is capable of holding.

There is no aspect of this album that is impressive in any way. There are no real flaws but it does not exceed a merely acceptable level. This CD will leave listeners wondering, “Did I keep the receipt?”
