Arizona’s Sixth Congressional District Representative, Jeff Flake, came to MCC to speak about current events in United States foreign policies on April 15.

Brian Dille’s Issues in World Politics class brought in Flake because of his membership in the International Relations Committee, making him an ideal candidate to speak on foreign policy.

He began by expressing how war was the last resort to ending the conflict with Iraq, he continued by expressing the importance of rebuilding Iraq with a stable democracy.

Other areas Flake addressed included the controversy in Syria and the perplexing issue of North Korea.

According to Flake Syria has been known to harbor and supply terrorists, making it a tough topic of debate for the U.S. according to Flake.

He also said that North Korea, is a regional problem and would best resolve itself if China, South Korea, and Japan get involved.

Dille’s class project will continue until the end of the semester with the anticipation of getting senators Joe Lieberman and John McCain to visit MCC’s Campus.
