Calendar Spotlight If a play had been labeled "highly literate, ingenious
and intelligent"who would not want to see it? Well now is everyones
chance. MCC's theater department will be performing Tom Stoppard's
Arcadia.

Theater
and Arts The Poster
On April 25 the Arizona Institute for Peace Education and Research
will be hosting a showing of the film The Poster, which will
be followed by a discussion of the movie and the themes and issues
if preesents. The event will take place at 7 p.m. at the A.I.P.E.R.
headquarters on 323 E. Broadway Road in Tempe.
Asian Cultural Awareness
That is right, April is Asian Cultural Awareness month and to celebrate
MCC will be hosting. Events will include a variety of events that
kick off on April 22.
Events Canine Cleaning
Have a stinky dog that needs a bath? Then bring that fragrant canine
out to the Red Mountain Multigenerational Center on May 17 and get
it washed up. Volunteers will be washing dogs for donations that
will benefit the Friends of Animal Care and Control, and Mel's fund.
Creativity on Display
Spring is here again and that means it is time for MCC's Student
Art Show. The art work will be on display in the Navajo Room in
the Kirk Center through April 24.
Heavy Metal
In the mood for something a little different than a stuffy museum?
There is an alternative. Artisimo Artspace is hosting two new exhibits
set to open on May 1, and run through June 15. Artisimo is located
at 4333 N. Scottsdale Road.
APRIL 6
At 11:58 a.m. four juveniles were able to start an IKON electric
cart on the north side of the AS Building and caused moderate damage
to it before being discovered by College Safety officers. Efforts
are underway to identify the juveniles.
APRIL 8
At 7:55 p.m. a student reported that between 4:45p.m. and 7:35 p.m.
person(s) unknown stole his Saturn from the south parking lot south
of the TC Building. Mesa Police took a report
APRIL 9
At 4 a.m. Mesa Police officers responded to the southwest parking
lot regarding a subject threatening suicide. The subject was taken
into custody without the assistance of College Safety and transported
off campus for psychological evaluation.
At 4:15 p.m. a student was detained at the Textbook Store across
the street from MCC by a College Safety officer and Mesa Police
officer for the theft and attempted sale of books belonging to an
instructor. The instructor opted not to prosecute for the theft
and the student was referred to the Dean of Student's office.
APRIL 10
At 8:15 a.m. a student suffered an apparent seizure while attending
class in the LS Building. She was transported to Desert Samaritan
Hospital by ambulance.
